Refund policy

This policy is part of our Terms and Conditions (AGB). In case of conflict, the Terms and Conditions prevail.

No statutory right of return

Under Swiss law, there is no statutory right of return or withdrawal period for online purchases. Unlike EU regulations, Swiss consumers do not have an automatic 14-day right to withdraw from distance sales contracts.

Returns are accepted by AMS on a voluntary basis under the conditions described below.

Voluntary 14-day return window

We accept returns within 14 calendar days of delivery, provided the item meets all of the following conditions:

  • The item is in its original, unused condition — not displayed, handled beyond inspection, or modified in any way
  • The original manufacturer packaging is intact and undamaged (the box is part of the product’s value)
  • The return is accompanied by the original order confirmation

To initiate a return, contact us at info@ams-models.ch within 14 days of delivery with your order number. We will confirm the return and provide a return address.

Items not eligible for return

The following items are not eligible for return under the voluntary policy:

  • Items delivered in a factory-sealed manufacturer box — sealed-box deliveries are final sales. Once a factory-sealed item leaves our possession we cannot verify that it has not been opened and resealed. Sealed-box items are clearly identified as such in the product listing.
  • Pre-owned / used items sold with a condition grade — these are sold “as described”; the stated grade and photos constitute full disclosure
  • Items showing signs of use, handling, or display after delivery
  • Items with missing accessories or damage not present at the time of delivery
  • Items returned after the 14-day window

For defective or misdescribed returns, contact us first at info@ams-models.ch — we will arrange the return shipment.

Refund processing

Once the returned item is received and inspected:

  • Refunds are processed within 7 business days
  • Refunds are issued via the original payment method
  • If the item is not returned in its original condition, we reserve the right to deduct the cost of any damage or missing components from the refund

Defective or misdescribed items (warranty claims)

If an item you received is defective or does not match the product description, this is handled as a warranty claim under Swiss law (OR Art. 197 ff.), not as a standard return.

What qualifies as a defect:

  • A fault present at the time of delivery that was not disclosed in the product listing (description, condition grade, or photos)
  • An item that materially differs from the written product description

What does not qualify as a defect:

  • Any condition consistent with the item’s stated condition grade
  • Any imperfection clearly visible in the product photos
  • Normal aging or patina consistent with the item’s age and grade

How to report: Contact info@ams-models.ch promptly upon discovery with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs.

AMS will review the claim and respond. At our discretion, the remedy will be:

  1. Repair
  2. Replacement with an equivalent item
  3. Reduction of the purchase price
  4. Refund upon return of the item

Transit damage

If your model arrives damaged in shipping, see our Shipping Policy for the claims procedure. All shipments are insured; you must report transit damage within 5 calendar days of delivery.
